Hi, I'm Hayden Mountcastle—an epidemiologist and data analyst. I hold a B.S. in Biology from NYU Abu Dhabi and an MPH in Epidemiology from UCLA. Currently, I'm based in Boston and work in the Koenen Lab at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Broad Institute of MIT. My primary focus is with NeuroGAP, a large-scale cohort study of over 40,000 participants investigating the genetic and epidemiologic factors contributing to psychosis and PTSD in East Africa. See 'Projects' for a closer look at some of the things I've been doing.
St. Pete Beach, FL is home, but I've spent most of my life outside the U.S., having lived in Riyadh, Barcelona, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi. Living in these places plus work has taken me to over 60 countries and counting.
Outside of work, I love cooking, playing basketball, traveling, and learning new things. On the side, I help run Bull Balcony, my family's tourism company for the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain (send me an email for rates!).
Most importantly, I'm engaged to the amazing and talented Joey Bui, lawyer and author of Lucky Ticket. Together, we spoil Simba, our beloved Bichon-Shih Tzu mix. Stay tuned - I plan to share more here soon.
